It is made of some sort of plastic board but it's pretty sturdy and stable enough that you use it in the laundry room to store bleach and don't have to worry about it's spilling. This tower is lightweight and that's because the materials use are as well. However, it's difficult to move the tower because you can't lift it up, you have to slide it across the floor. The pieces fit together like a jigsaw with alternating holes/slats. You don't put both pieces into one hole, you just turn the piece around to line up with the alternating holes/slats. Hint: Have a rubber mallet. Also the top round piece has the least about of holes/slat openings. It does hold all of docs just fine and it spins well despite their weight. Shoe Carousel - Such a nice way to display your shoes and easy access to each of them by just rotating is so convenient. You see each pair and don't have to open a box to see what shoes are inside. The white color looks clean and goes with any decor. It can be stored in the closet or in the corner since it spins to allow you to access all the shoes. It can hold and display tons of shoes, handbags, belts, etc.. Shelves fit size 6.5 shoes perfectly; they are even tall enough for highest heels. This rack can also be used to store and display books, photo albums and decoration pieces. How well this can organize spices and other pantry items as well. It's a versatile design that can be put to different uses. This rotating shoe rack would be suitable for women shoes and high heels. Only drawbacks are it will not work for tall boots, and larger sized shoes stick out past the rim.(Try cocking one shoe.) It has plenty of storage: there are 7 cubbies on each column, and 4 on each "level" with a total of 28 areas for storage, not including what you can place on top.
